In January, the WEF mainly attracts politicians to the mountains. This year in Davos, there was a lively discussion about entrepreneurship, leadership and sustainability outside of politics. The Loft of Shared Dreams platform, founded by Marina Cvetkovic, asked speakers from various industries to share their visions.

Is it worth following your dreams and plunging into self-employment? How can AI support us sustainably? How is the luxury sector changing? What do managers need to cope with the challenges of today? Complex questions like these need space. They found it at the Loft of Shared Dreams. Away from the hustle and bustle of the WEF, crowds of people from a wide variety of backgrounds made the pilgrimage to the Mountain Plaza Hotel in Davos to discuss their visions for the future. Marina Cvetkovic created the Loft of Shared Dreams in partnership with Annina Müller and László Ujpál. As the name suggests, it’s all about dreaming big – and sharing with each other. At last year’s WEF, such an event was nothing more than a dream, even for Marina. She was determined to make it a reality and create a carefully curated platform for visionary leaders. And she succeeded: With over 30 speakers and 300 guests. Bold ideas were shared to create lasting change on a global scale. Complex topics such as sustainability and artificial intelligence can make you feel hopeless. At the Loft of Shared Dreams it was different: the potential in the burning issues that are currently changing our world was recognized. In the panel on the future of the luxury industry, for example, there was a consensus that AI can create more time for us – this time can then be used for creativity. Innovation and sustainability were seen as key elements of a well-functioning luxury industry. It is similar with entrepreneurship. In the future, the focus should not only be on profit, but also on sustainability. Successful entrepreneurs are those who align their business with a vision for a better, fairer world. During the day, there was an opportunity to write dreams on vision boards. Among other things, it was written in color: That everyone can be an entrepreneur one day.

Women for Change
In addition to visionary leaders, what does it take to really drive change? Women. All women, but 100 is a good start. One of the most influential panels was that of the 100 Davos Women, a global initiative working to increase the visibility and representation of women at Davos and other major events around the world. Some of them made themselves comfortable in the plush armchairs and demanded nothing less than: Change needs to happen right now. And it did. Follower numbers were quickly used to make statements in the virtual world – which will hopefully also reach the real world. There were also discussions on how leadership and technology are connected in today’s world, what ethical AI can be, economic empowerment in the global south, climate solutions and inclusive leadership. The discussion proved how important it is for women to step into the spotlight and use their voices to shape a more inclusive and sustainable future for all, proving once again that networking, listening and supporting each other pays off – sharing your dreams.
